Modifications to first draft
March 16, 2010
After some feedback was given about my original cut, I have made some changes in order to improve the video. The first cut is shown below.
These are the modifications made to this cut:
- the ‘caution’ sign was a dull shot, with no movement- i have added an invert effect over the top of the shot to make it more fitting with the video.
- titles were added to the beginning shots to introduce the name of the video and the actor starring. The titles introduce the video appropriatly.
- at the end of this original cut, there is no conclusion to the narrative. The narrative is a very loose one, but referring back to some of the beginning shots will remind the audience of the story and hopefully see the conclusion of the video.
- i have added the same ‘inner shadow’ effect to each of the frames in the entire cut – some of the frames near to the end didn’t have the same effect which interfered with the continuity.
- the lip-synching was changed so that the visual and the audio were in time with each other
- the shots of the train tracks were seen to have no relevance to the video. Therefore i have taken out every shot of the train tracks as suggested.
- at 0.04 seconds, the ‘zoom’ in was not flowing or consistent. I cut the shot earlier and slowed the play speed down to make the transition smoother.
- the gausian blur in some shots was not flowing within a cross fade, so i smoothed them out so make them flow.
